Automatic Enrolment (AE) for Employers

 

The law on workplace pensions has changed. Under the Pensions Act 2008, every employer in the UK must put certain staff into a pension scheme and contribute towards it. This is called ‘automatic enrolment’.

ALL employers have duties to carry out to comply with the Pensions Regulator and there are financial penalties for non-compliance.

From 1st October 2017, your legal duties as an employer begin on the day your first member of staff starts work. There are certain steps that you must take. Find out about new employer duties

If you’ve employed someone since 2nd April 2017 or you’re going to employ someone before 30th September 2017, find out when your duties will start.

We can assist in one of 3 ways.

 

  • For employers who are exempt from setting up an auto enrolment pension scheme but still have duties to perform e.g. Employers where the only employee(s) is also a director. Payroll Services Outsourced Ltd can complete the relevant document exempting you from your duties, thereby complying with current legislation.

 

  • Payroll Services Outsourced Ltd can set up a NEST pension scheme including assessing employees, compiling and distributing mandatory letters/documents to employees during the set-up process, add/remove employees, opt in/opt out employees, process refunds for opted out employees, process pension contributions, produce and upload contribution schedules for NEST, complete a mandatory Declaration of Compliance and 3-yearly Auto Re- Enrolment and Re-Declaration.

 

  • Employers can source and set up a pension scheme themselves or engage the services of a pensions specialist. Payroll Services Outsourced Ltd’s only duties will be to integrate the chosen pension scheme with the payroll, calculate the relevant contributions and provide/upload or input contribution schedules for the chosen pension provider.
